The Oxford Trust
The Oxford Trust is an independent charitable trust that was established in 1985 by the founders of Oxford Instruments. A few years ago Evenlode entered into a three-year sponsorship of the trust’s new development at Stansfeld Park, which aimed to boost their science education programmes and give much-needed support to entrepreneurs and enterprises working in science and technology. Stansfeld Park is the UK’s first indoor-outdoor science education centre designed specifically for early years and primary-aged children, their teachers and their families.
Chipping Norton School
Evenlode has been working closely with Chipping Norton School for several years, from facilitating work experience and giving talks on everything from careers to day-to-day money matters. We have also been working with the school to help restart the Young Enterprise scheme which will encourage students to learn about business, financial services, and managing their money.
The University of Oxford
Evenlode have previously donated to the Mathematical Institute and Physics department bursary funds at The University of Oxford. These funds help to support DPhil scholarships.
The Branch was created to provide a valued space in the heart of Chipping Norton where it could work with individuals to remove the barriers that are preventing people from reaching their potential.
This charity focuses on the lasting impact a growing human population is having on the world’s resources and environment. The Charity aims to raise awareness of the problems through campaigning, advocacy and education. Evenlode employees previously attended a talk on this subject and was introduced to the charity which it has since donated to.
Charlbury Community Centre
The Charlbury Community Centre is a local not-for-profit community centre run by professional staff and volunteers and is owned and managed by the Thomas Gifford Trust. The centre is home to a sports hall, a library and a café, and runs a timetable of activities for the local community.
The Pad Project
The charity's mission is to create and cultivate local and global partnerships to end period stigma and to empower women worldwide. Women and girls around the world often face a lack of access to menstrual products. The combination of period poverty, stigmatization, and inadequate reproductive and sexual health education has major consequences for girls’ wellbeing. It can also prevent girls from staying in school therefore ending their education.
Lawrence Home Nursing
Lawrence Home Nursing provide specialist end-of-life nursing care, free of charge in the Chipping Norton area, for those who wish to die at home with dignity, care and reassurance. Evenlode have a long relationship with the Lawrence Home Nursing team, and are sponsoring their Summer Clay Pigeon Shoot and Auction.
Samaritans is a charity working across the UK and Ireland to reduce the number of people who take their own lives and help people who are struggling to cope with how they’re feeling or with life’s challenges. Evenlode previously made a donation on behalf of a member of the team who supported a friend running a half marathon carrying 36.5kg.
World Bicycle Relief
World Bicycle Relief builds and distributes specially designed, locally assembled Buffalo Bicycles to people in sub-Saharan Africa. These bikes help to improve people’s lives so that they can get to school, work and the market in a much quicker and safer fashion. Evenlode previously sponsored two employees to cycle from London to Paris in 24 hours, with all proceeds raised going to World Bicycle Relief.
Genetics Clinic Oxford
The Medical Genetics Clinic help to support families who have recently had family members fall ill through cancer. They research the whole family’s medical history, establish the gene type which has caused the cancer, offer other family members the option to be tested for the so-called ‘wonky gene’ and if necessary, arrange for any required screening to be put in place as a preventative method.
Banbury Young Homelessness Project
The Banbury Youth Homeless Project supports young people aged between 13 and 25 who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, disadvantaged or simply in need of some advice and support. Evenlode has previously donated money to the charity which went towards purchasing fundraising software and transport for their visit to the Houses of Parliament.
Charlbury Town Youth FC
Charlbury Town Youth FC was founded in 1947 to provide boys and girls from Charlbury and the surrounding villages with the opportunity to play football. Evenlode have previously sponsored the girls football kit for the club which should help the club in their goal to offer better and more advanced coaching, training and match facilities.
Chipping Norton Scouts
Evenlode has been helping their local scout group by donating money to help fit out the new scout hut. Scouting helps young people improve their key skills, including social skills, teamwork ability, leadership ability and their confidence.
Alzheimer's Research UK
The charity's mission is to bring about the first life-changing dementia treatment by 2025. Their vision is a world where people are free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia. Donations to this charity help fund ground-breaking research projects across the UK which aim to diagnose, prevent, treat and ultimately cure Alzheimer’s Disease.
Friends of Middle Barton School
This charity is made up of a dedicated team of parents who provide a programme of events and fund-raisers throughout the year, which enables the school to buy equipment and resources that normal school funds cannot run to. Evenlode previously sponsored the installation of a new sports track.
Cropredy Cricket Club
Cropredy Cricket Club is a local village club based in North Oxfordshire. Previously Evenlode sponsored the club to help towards the building of their second pavilion. The new building will go a long way towards expanding the club’s capabilities and meeting future needs.
Crisis is the UK national charity for single homeless people. The charity offers year-round education, employment, housing and well-being services from its centres across the UK. As well as these services Crisis offers food, warmth, companionship and vital services to homeless people over the Christmas period.
Friends of Mettupalayam
Friends of Mettupalayam focus on improving the life circumstances and opportunities for people living in the area of Tamil Nadu. The charity focuses on a range of significant areas which include education, nutrition, disability, credit unions, health and welfare, farming and support for the elderly. They charity currently runs two primary schools, a farm and over 200 women’s groups.
Prostate Cancer UK
The charity's top priority is to fund research to stop prostate cancer killing men. They are investing millions into finding better treatment and tests that can spot fast-growing cancers early.
SpecialEffect is a local charity that uses technology to enable disabled people to play video games. The technology ranges from modified joypads to eye-control. The charity believes that by levelling the playing field they bring families and friends together which can have a profoundly positive impact on therapy, confidence and rehabilitation.
Mind provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Cancer Research UK
Cancer Research UK funds vital research alongside raising awareness to help reduce the number of deaths from cancer. It is the largest independent cancer research charity and conducts research into the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
Brain Research UK
Brain Research UK are the UK's leading dedicated funder of neurological research. The charity funds the best science to achieve the greatest impact for people affected by neurological conditions, to help them live better, longer.
The Lung Foundation
The Lung Foundation helps people affected by lung conditions, whether it be lung disease, COPD or lung cancer. They have a helpline and promote community groups across the UK. The charity also focuses on research with the aim of improving care, preventing, treating and ultimately curing lung diseases.
Women’s aid is a charity that shapes and coordinates responses to domestic abuse. They provide just under 300 services to women and children across the country. The charity provides expert training, qualifications and consultancy to a range of agencies and they also operate a 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline.
